Strengthening Community Engagement at the Local Level through Mobilization and Empowerment of Tole Lane Organizations (TLOs) to Improve Local Governance

Project duration: 2023 (Pilot) to 2027 (Expected)

Funding Organization: The Asia Foundation, Australian Aid

Objectives:

  • To enhance awareness and capacity of “TLOs” and their network, especially marginalized members, and their engagement with local government to secure citizen rights, and inclusion with woman leadership to government services and resources.
  • To strengthen local governance processes for inclusive annual planning and budgeting process, increased transparency and accountability, and service delivery including health facilities.
  • To strengthen resource mobilization mechanisms and enterprise development of members of TLO.

  • Problem definition, Action Planning and Implementation
  • Organizational development.

  • Birendranagar Municipality of Surkhet
  • Tikapur Municipality of Kailali

Target beneficiaries: Marginalized community, underserved, PWDs, and disadvantaged groups, deprived of the WASH facilities.
